The doctors are a husband and wife team, who have stellar orthodontist qualifications and are trained in the newest advancements in the field of orthodontics.
Dr. “Mel” was born and raised in Los Angeles. She grew up with three siblings her age, as she is part of a set of quadruplets. She completed both her undergraduate and dental school studies at UCLA as a top student of her class, earning her several awards including an award for “Excellence in Patient Comprehensive Care”. She later completed her three-year post-graduate residency program in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics, and also Masters of Business Administration at Roseman University of Health Sciences.
Her priority is to listen to the needs of her patients and customize treatment for them. As an orthodontist, she doesn’t just realign teeth; she treats her patients as individuals with unique needs, so they can have a healthy, long-lasting smile. She hopes to make every experience at Orthodontics LA easy and enjoyable for patients.
When she’s not helping patients at her office in Encino, Dr. Mel spends time trying different types of food throughout Los Angeles. She loves trying new things and learning about the diverse communities here in Southern California. Her appreciation of culture has led her and Dr. Artin to travel the world, stopping at destinations such as Greece and France!
Dr. Artin was raised in a family with a legacy of dental professionals. When he was a young boy, he would spend his summers observing his uncle, who practiced as a general dentist and also working hands-on with his father, who owns a dental laboratory. Thus, the love to provide care and dentistry was instilled in him from a very young age.
He pursued this passion for dentistry by going to UCSD for his Bachelor’s Degree in Biochemistry and Cell Biology, and Loma Linda Dental School. Afterward, Dr. Artin completed a one-year post-graduate internship in orthodontics at Roseman University of Health Sciences, while also practicing as a general dentist. He then completed his three-year residency at the school, earning his dual degree in Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopedics specialty certificate and a Masters of Business Administration. Not only is Dr. Artin highly skilled in the latest technologies in orthodontics, but he also has a radiant personality which makes orthodontist visits fun and relaxing.
Dr. Artin treats patients in both Encino and Glendale. Since he grew up in the area, he is deeply involved in the community in both cities. As a sports enthusiast, he has coached a local basketball league and supports the AYSO soccer team. He is also a member of the Armenian association, helping out whenever he can.
