Recommendations for Our Encino Patients
Encino is a beautiful neighborhood to work and live in. As your orthodontists, we want to provide the best experience possible when you visit our office and that includes enjoying all the wonderful places surrounding our area. From our family to yours, we hope you have the chance to visit our list of Encino destinations the next time you stop by!
Hiking the Trails
Nestled in the outskirts of Los Angeles, Encino is surrounded by beautiful wildlife such as the Los Encinos State Park, Sepulveda Dam, and Sepulveda Gardens. We recommend taking a hike in San Vicente Park or Upper Canyonback Trailhead. There are many different trails to choose from, but it’s a family-friendly activity that we and our staff all enjoy, especially since the weather is usually so great in California. It’s only a 20 minute drive away from a gorgeous view of the city.
Encino Commons Restaurants
The “Encino Commons” simply refers to all the stores, restaurants, events, and activities that take place on Ventura Boulevard. Since Orthodontics LA is located on Ventura Boulevard, there are tons of great places to stop by if you’re waiting for your appointment. Some of our favorites include The Nook, More Than Waffles, Tasty Chicken, Esso Mediterranean Bistro,, and Kopan Ramen. One braces-friendly treat is Wanderlust Creamery. They serve ice creams with flavors from around the world such as Sticky Rice + Mango (Thailand), Kinder Bueno (Europe), Tonka Bean (South America), and Japanese Neapolitan (Japan). If you’re hesitant about what you can and can’t eat with braces, check out our Bite-Sized Guide to Eating for tips.
Laemmle’s Town Center 5
Unlike traditional movie theaters that show popular new movies, Laemmle’s Town Center 5 is dedicated to showing hand-picked indie, foreign, and art-house films. Stop by so you can enjoy an old cult classic or new independent film that you normally wouldn’t be able to watch on the big screen. Laemmle’s is conveniently located across the street from Core Power Yoga and sandwiched between Louise and Amestoy Avenue. For patients heading there from Orthodontics LA in Encino, just go straight down Ventura Blvd and it’ll be on your right after Louise Ave. If you end up at Encino Park, you’ve gone too far!
Sepulveda Recreation Area
If you have kids, a great place to stop is Sepulveda Recreation Area. There’s a soccer field, baseball diamond, picnic tables, and plenty of space to run around and play. Sepulveda Recreation Area is one of many parks located throughout Encino. There are also lots of other sports centers and children’s gyms if you live in the area and would like them to get involved in an afterschool activity.
